Doctor 2017

Doctor 2017 has eyes on the future

Doctor 2017 will have an imposing start with the open seminar A Sneak Peek at 2030s Health Care, on 10 January from 2 to 4 pm at Messukeskus. The official opening ceremony will take place after the seminar, at 5 pm. All doctors and exhibitors are invited to attend.

The leading theme of Doctor 2017 is As a Doctor to the Future. The future will be discussed in more detail in three sessions each day.

The theme for Wednesday will be As a Doctor in the Modern Daily Life. Decision-making on the society brings about challenges for doctors, and doctors have to face these both in their special areas of responsibility and in individual hospitals and units.

Courses for medical students have been scheduled for Thursday. The programme also contains modules that concerning a doctor’s career path.

Friday will bring us together under the theme Cooperating for a Good Care Pathway. New, good practices are needed for care pathway interfaces. Just like patients, it must be possible to transfer patient data quickly and correctly.

The course offering at Doctor 2017 is wider and more diverse than ever. You can select from as many as 65 courses in the three days. Between courses, you have free-of-charge access to the exhibition. Interesting debates and showcases by exhibitors take place on the Areena stage.

The course ticket comes inclusive of a lunch you can have in the exhibition area. Lunch symposiums are organised by the exhibitors and they are available on Wednesday and Thursday.

Keynote speakers in the 30-minute lectures are Anu Wartiovaara (Wednesday) and Esko Valtaoja (Friday), from 12.45–1.15 pm.

And please remember that there’s evening programme! Two types of events are available: You can enjoy a festive dinner at Helsinki’s Old Student House on Wednesday. On Thursday, you can join a more laid-back party at Caruzello, in the Linnanmäki Amusement Park.
